GREETINGS FROM WHISPER FARM! Hope you enjoy the first edition of The WHISPER “SHOUT!”, our news letter. Stay in touch with the happenings posted here to be the first to get access to tickets to Whisper Farm events. THESE LAST FIVE YEARS It’s been five years since I undertook the revitalization of Whisper Farm, and the work has been nonstop until now. The old barns are rebuilt into rental cottages, the farmhouse is completely renovated into a brand new, but still an old, historic 1817 farmhouse. The flower gardens are flourishing and giving me great pleasure to see them fill out to the post card images I had only imagined. The hard work has made it really the place of my dreams. Things of beauty should be shared, and I look forward to sharing Whisper Farm through a series of fun, cool events throughout the seasons. THE CYO FLOWERS ARE COMING! ABOUT WHISPER FARM’S Cut YOUR OWN FLOWER operation (CYO) Planting has begun! The drought set back the planting for a month, but seeds for Sunflowers and Zinnias have now been sown into neat rows in the flower fields. Sprouting has begun, and we await bloom which should be in ABOUT 45 days. Sequential weekly planting thru the season will hopefully allow a long summer harvest. The last four years I’ve grown Zinnias and Sunflowers, learning the process. This year we will open to the public. More detail to follow how the operation will work in the next Whisper Newsletter. You will be able to come to the farm and cut your own bunches of flowers, using your clippers or ours. Special Flower events will be incorporated into the growing harvesting season. (arranging, brunch, dinner in the fields, etc.)
